John Stabile created a foundation in 1986 as the focal point of his family's philanthropy. Today, the Stabile Family Foundation donates an average of $50,000 per year to New England educational institutions and New Hampshire community organizations.

It started with a shovel, an inherited wheelbarrow, $15,000 and a desire to work. H. J. Stabile & Son was born.

In 1973, John Stabile founded H. J. Stabile & Son. Named after his father, Harry J. Stabile, a former prominent builder and banker in the Boston area, John Stabile started the company as a small home builder. Over the years, the company expanded into commercial/industrial construction and property management. Coming full circle with our major emphasis today on residential construction, it remains a family-owned company.

John Stabile has long been a key force in the New Hampshire real estate industry, overseeing the planning, development and construction of numerous residential, commercial/industrial and multi-use projects throughout the state and northern New England. His astute knowledge of the business, his understanding of the varied elements involved and his ability to clearly define and implement solutions have ensured the success of Stabile and its clients for many years.

The company places a high priority on being a good corporate citizen. The Stabile Family Foundation, created by John and his family as the focal point of their philanthropic efforts, helps numerous non-profit organizations, community organizations and educational institutions in the area and takes an active role in the community.

John P. Stabile IIJohn P. Stabile II graduated from Bridgeton (Maine) Academy in 1965 and Norwich University in 1969. Following graduation, he was commissioned a second Lieutenant in the US Army Infantry and began his active duty assignment with the US Army Infantry, as a jungle training officer, served two years, and rose to the rank of First Lieutenant.

Stabile returned to Nashua following his military service joining one of New Hampshire’s leading contractors, Border Corporation. Within 24 months he became Vice President and General Manager.

In 1973 Stabile founded H.J. Stabile & Son, Inc. The company, a general contracting firm, was named after Stabile’s father, Harry J. Stabile (1916-1962), a former prominent builder and banker in the Boston area.

Over the past 42 plus years, The Stabile Companies have built over 4,000 homes and millions of square feet of commercial and industrial property throughout New England.

John P. Stabile, II has been active politically both on the state and national levels.

H. J. Stabile & Son is New Hampshire’s premier residential new home builder. Since its founding more than 40 years ago, the company has built more than 4,000 homes in southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

In addition, the company owns, manages and leases residential apartment communities. Our newest rental community, Cotton Mill Square, was a multi-year project, taking an old cotton storage warehouse and converting it into 109 upscale rental units, all while maintaining the true character and old mill charm with a sensibly modern and thoroughly unique design.

Stabile has received numerous awards, including the prestigious "New Hampshire Homebuilder of the Year" designation and, more recently, Nashua Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year.

H.J. Stabile & Son is a family-owned company. As a second generation builder, Chairman of the Board John P. Stabile continues the family dedication to quality. Under his leadership, the company uses only first-rate materials and the highest standards of workmanship to build homes and commercial/industrial facilities.
